What Is Modeling?

Before we delve into modeling specifically in maya, we need to go through a few concepts of modeling in general. Let us begin with a working definition of what modeling is in computer animation. Here is one that would seem acceptable to most people: 3D modeling is the process of creating three-dimensional surface using a computer for the purpose of rendering them into a picture or a sequence of pictures.
